On the 16th May, we lost a precious member of our Church family. Hazel Brown was killed in a road collision, and next Saturday (10th) in tribute to her life, we are having a service in Highway Community Centre at 10am. Her husband Ben has released the following invitation to all who knew her:
“I am humbled and honoured to have had this wonderful woman as my best friend and astounding wife over the last seven years. Her energy and enthusiasm were the fuel to an amazing rollercoaster life, full of daily adventure that appeared in the smallest of spontaneous opportunities. Hazel had a great boldness and strength through God which was reflected in her phenomenal work with young people throughout her life, encouraging the positives and enabling them to build on their strengths to succeed at life’s many challenges. I look forward to continuing and furthering her legacy in our own children and through the newly created trust, which represents the core spirit of Hazel giving young people opportunities to develop and create their own adventures. I Invite you all to attend and reflect and celebrate her life on Saturday 10th June in Highway Community Centre, Penryn; wear bright colours!”
It is the wish of Ben and the family that all donations be made to the Hazel Brown Trust, which is in the process of being established. The trust will provide funding and means to allow young people to experience adventure. The trust is being established by Hine Downing solicitors of Falmouth, who are undertaking the work free of charge as a testimony to Hazel.
Cheques made payable to the ‘Hazel Brown Trust’, care of Highway Community Centre, Church Road, Penryn, TR10 8DA.
