You’re welcome to our church whether you’ve never stepped inside a church before, lost touch with your faith or if you’re just unsure about what you believe. We’re all on a journey. No matter where we are at, God cares and is with you in that process.

I’m looking for a church; Tell me More about You.

Highway is an Evangelical Church, and what is termed a ‘Free Church’, which means we don’t belong to a larger denomination (such as the Church of England, Catholicism etc). We are a part of Church of the Nations (COTN)- an international family of churches relating through love and commitment to see the Kingdom of God extended on earth. COTN comprised of church clusters, in which churches are grouped under an apostolic team. We are apart of the ‘Acts Life Cluster’ overseen by Dave & Carol Cape.

Highway Church, founded by Dave and Jill Ward, has been active in Penryn since 1989, gaining charitable status in 1994. Our scriptural foundations are founded in chapters 35 and 40 of Isaiah. We’ve had an amazing adventure in the last 25 years, owning our own coffee shop ‘Holy Joes’, as well as running youth and toddler groups. In 2012 we purchased the building that we have named Highway Community Centre in the heart of the town, this is the home of Highway Church. This journey has been an amazing testimony of God’s provision. We run the centre as both a home for the Church, and a space for the community. We’ve also acquired the building adjacent to our community centre, which we have named Highway House serving as a home for the Penryn & Falmouth Foodbank, and our community support hub is housed here.

Today Harvey and Jo are lead elders of Highway Church family. They both discovered Jesus through Highway and have been in the church for 25 years since coming to Cornwall straight from graduation . They have been part of the church family since it’s early days when it was based in people’s homes and have raised a family of 5 children themselves.

I’d like to get involved more with my LOCAL community

We are actively involved in our community, from children and youth work, to the Foodbank and helping those in need. If you’d like to volunteer, we have a range of opportunities, whether that be with our up-coming Dwell Cafe project, or the Foodbank. How DO I FIND you & DO You HAVE PARKING?

Highway Community Centre is the home of Highway Church. We’re found between Swallow Court Care Home and the Texaco Petrol Station. To gain access to our building and car park you’ll need to drive slowly through Swallow Court’s car park and around the back of our building. Our main entrance is to the right of our car park around the back of our building. We have disabled access and toilets available on site too.
